Scalp ringworm is a more common condition than most people think. In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that close to 10% of the population gets scalp ringworm. That surprises a lot of people who really don’t understand what it is, or how to treat the symptoms.

Children between the ages of 4-14 are the ones who are most likely to be infected with scalp ringworm. Although it does affect adults on occasion as well, it’s children who are the biggest target. Doctors have no real explanation as to why, but many believe it is due to kids interacting with each other throughout the day at school and playing together at other times.
